Mycotoxins Are Different from Mold
Mold is a living organism that can grow on damp building materials. Mycotoxins are chemical compounds produced by certain molds under particular environmental conditions.
Because mycotoxins are not living organisms, they cannot technically be “killed.” Environmental cleaning instead focuses on removing contaminated dust, treating affected surfaces and reducing the potential for residual contamination.
FixMold addresses the underlying mold and moisture problem before implementing any additional mycotoxin-cleaning protocol.
Phase One: Clean
Superstratum Building Cleaner may be used during controlled pre-fogging and detailed microcleaning.
A fine mist can be applied throughout prepared areas to support broad coverage and help control settled particles before surface cleaning. Moisture-sensitive items, electronics, artwork and other vulnerable materials must be protected before application.
The detailed microcleaning process may include:
- HEPA vacuuming
- One-directional surface wiping
- Baseboard and cabinet cleaning
- Furniture and contents cleaning
- HVAC-adjacent surface cleaning
- Proper disposal of used wipes and debris
Fogging alone does not replace physical cleaning. Contaminated dust and residue must still be carefully removed from the property.
Phase Two: Gas
The Superstratum Deodor Bomb is a chlorine-dioxide gas treatment intended to reach concealed or difficult-to-access areas.
This treatment must only be performed within an unoccupied, controlled area. Product instructions, placement requirements, exposure times, ventilation procedures and re-entry requirements must be strictly followed.
Warning signs and access restrictions are used to prevent occupants from entering the treatment area prematurely. The property must be properly ventilated before re-entry.
Phase Three: Coat
Superstratum Endurance Coating is applied to clean, dry surfaces as an invisible protective layer designed to resist mold growth on the treated coating.
Depending on the project, it may be considered for selected walls, wood framing, building cavities, crawlspaces, attics or other appropriate surfaces. Correct surface preparation and application thickness are essential.
The coating is not a substitute for repairing leaks, controlling humidity or removing materials that cannot be successfully restored.
Continuous Air Support
The Superstratum ION combines H13 HEPA filtration with active bipolar ionization for ongoing indoor-air management.
Air purification may support a broader restoration plan, but it cannot correct an active water intrusion problem or replace professional remediation. Filtration is most effective when combined with moisture correction, source removal and detailed environmental cleaning.
